GSN Network Rebrand
GSN is overflowing with new original content and is full of vibrant talent. We felt the network should reflect that vibrancy, so we crafted a color palette based on 24 swatches with a simple, but critical, set of rules that operate cohesively and modularly. This variety of the palette keeps the network feeling fresh every single day.
We also created powerful toolkits that allow GSN to have its own voice and personality. This voice gives GSN a firm stance on who they are and allows them to say we're here, we're loud, and we're proud. And empowers their in-house team to quickly create stunning promos and graphics.
A huge thank you to everybody at GSN for being such wonderful creative partners in this journey, which was one of transparency, passionate collaboration, and fun. Together, we set out to elevate their brand to new heights. Our core strategy was to humanize the network and really capitalize on the fun inherently found in their programing. Since the launch ratings for the network have never been higher, we are excited to see the GSN brand continue to flourish.
GSN Network Reband Sizzle
Hundreds of delvierables, one unified creative strategy. Spanning On-Air, Print and Digital Working collaboratively with the creative leadership at GSN, we developed a design language and creative strategy to harmoniously span across print, digital, and on-air. Every deliverable was just important as the one that came before it, and and our powerful toolkit system was made to empower the in-house creative talent at GSN to tackle any creative challenge they have well into the future.
PROCESS: Making Our Mark A brand logo is a core component that touches nearly every aspect the brand, and we wanted to make sure we got to the heart of what was right for GSN. That meant leaving no stone unturned and following our curiosities and wondering what could be, all along the way.
PROCESS: Additional Design Concepts We believe in the design process. That means dedicating time to explore curiosities, and playing freely in design. It also sometimes means unexpected turns along the way that ultimately leads us to the heart of every creative challenge. No matter a project scope, our process is always the same, and it always starts with design.
Additional Concept One: Puzzle
Vibrant, dynamic, tactile and fun. PUZZLE is based on a playful visual language of intersecting shapes that effortlessly transform, surprise and reveal information and content. This is a very robust package. By modifying the colors, patterns and shape configurations we have the ability to evoke different moods and levels of complexities within the package.
The animation possibilities within this style are vast. Dynamic “cause and effect” events triggered by pieces unlocking and interacting will captivate viewers and effectively deliver information and content in an exciting manor.
Additional Concept Two: Irreverent
Youthful and free. This vibrant direction injects attitude, pop and a touch of the unexpected into a bold and easy to comprehend information system. This package is extremely flexible and allows for maximum versatility while maintaining a consistent branded look.
The attitude and edge balance the poppy, fun colors and prevent the direction from skewing too young. The amount of pop and fun versus edginess and irreverence can be dialed up or down based on the show that is being promoted.
Additional Concept Three: Chicklet
Each show gets assigned a unique icon or chicklet. These chicklets all have personalities of their own, they dance, jump and play around the screen. When multiple chicklets are present they fall in line, much like arranging the icons on your computer or apps on your phone.
This package creates branding and animation opportunities both for individual chicklets, exuding the characteristics of the show they represent and for the way groups of icons interact and inform the larger structure.
Additional Concept Four: Operating System
Inspired by the simplicity and interactivity of apps and touch screen devices. OPERATING SYSTEM utilizes a simple yet sophisticated set of panels and menus that dynamically enter the frame to deliver information as needed. This package allows the viewer to remain focused on content and easily process the messaging. This simplicity and light touch works well across all demographics and will shift the perception of the brand to a more contemporary space.
All of this simplicity and sophistication does not have to come at the expense of FUN, by shifting the palate and the content we can still dial in specific moments to feel more vibrant or primetime.
Additional Design Concepts: Everything but the kitchen sink We truly left no stone unturned for this network rebrand. That meant enlisting top design talent from around the globe to explore design under our unified creative guidance. Even this large breadth of design on display is still only but a fraction of the total work we took on to get to the heart of the all-new GSN network rebrand.
